Your Phone/Camera: Ensure the flash works and the battery is fully charged.
A Checklist: Bring the landlord’s official move-in inspection form (if provided).
Blue Painter’s Tape/Small Sticky Notes: Use these to clearly mark and label any defects you find.
A Small Flashlight: Useful for peering into dark spaces like cabinets, closets, and under sinks.
Confirm the Availability Date: Re-confirm the exact date and time the unit and all common areas (like the gym or pool) become accessible to you.
Determine the Collection Method: Ask the leasing agent specifically where and when the keys and fobs will be transferred.
Verify the Required Inventory: Get a precise list, in writing (email is ideal), of every item you are supposed to receive. This inventory should include:
Unit Keys, Mailbox Key, Amenity Fobs/Cards, Parking Fob/Gate Opener, Storage Locker Key
